Mariel O. Awoniyi
Mariel Awoniyi is a graduate of Oakwood University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry and Evangelism in May 2025, and an alumnus of Oakwood Adventist Academy, Class of 2021.
He is the founder of the New Song Choir and R.A.W. Ministries (Real Authentic Worship), through which he has led Bible studies, open mic worship nights, and student-led church services. Under his direction, R.A.W. Ministries produced an annual mass choir concert that, in partnership with Oakwood University's Alumni Weekend, became the first Oakwood mass choir concert to unite multiple choirs in a single performance — livestreamed to audiences well beyond campus. He is also the author of a children's book, One Call Away, available on Amazon.
A musician at heart, Mariel writes, sings, produces, and plays several instruments, and enjoys basketball in his free time. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Andrews University Theological Seminary.
